Katrina Christiansen is one of Tórshavn’s many excellent restaurants, and I had the pleasure of enjoying an evening here on a visit to the Faroes in March 2024. Based on that trip, I wanted to run you through each dish and also offer some more practical information. So, without further ado, here we go…
The Food 😋
Let’s be honest: You clicked on this article because you wanted to know all about the food. I picked the seven-course meal, which was—to put things lightly—*really* good. I picked the seven-course meal, but five-course meals are also available. You can also book wine and beer menus, but I didn’t do either of these.
It started with cod and lemon curd (I know what you’re thinking, but give it a try and you’ll be surprised). Also included in the starter was salmon and some kind of dill sauce, which was honestly my favourite plate. Scallops were included in the first set of dishes as well.

Just as a side note… the bread was also phenomenal 😮💨.

More goodness followed with the main course. Fish croquettes were on the menu, as were potatoes. The primary dish itself was lamb with some kind of tomato sauce and some shredded cabbage. It’s pretty much what you imagined your first meal in the Faroe Islands to be like, and again, it was really good.

Dessert was a créme brûlée, but it was more lemony than what you’d normally expect. I was offered coffee, but I figured that I probably shouldn’t do that at 7:30 pm 🤯.

It’s worth noting that what’s included in your seven-course meal does change. The good news is that you can visit every day.
Where Is Katrina Christiansen Located? 🇫🇴
Katrina Christiansen is in the centre of Tórshavn and close to Hotel Hafnia (which is where I stayed on this trip). You can actually get a 10% discount at the restaurant if you stay at Hotel Hafnia, and you can book a room here.
Below is a map of the restaurant’s exact location:
