My Editorial Policy
*Last updated: October 3, 2025
Welcome to my blog—I’m happy that you’ve put your trust in me to help you plan a memorable trip. My mission is to create beautiful, original, informative, and easy-to-follow guides for you. To ensure that I stick to this path, I’m sharing my editorial and publishing policy.
My Core Values
Every article on this website is written with a “create content that I myself would consume” mindset. To do this, I adhere to each of the following.
- 100% original and valuable content
- Regular updates to ensure accuracy
- Original photography
- First-hand experiences
- Full transparency and honesty
100% Original and Valuable Content
Let me make this very clear from the get-go: I will never outsource my writing to anyone else. Every single article on this website, without exception, is written by me.
Some “experts” will argue that this lowers my output, and they may be right. But I don’t care; creating high-quality content for my audience is more important than some metrics on a screen. The idea of outsourcing these articles to ghostwriters makes me feel gross, and I also believe that it’s disingenuous.
As mentioned earlier, my mantra for writing articles is simple: Create content that I myself would consume. I only talk about topics that I think would actually be helpful for you, and frankly, I refuse to burn myself out by talking about things I’m not interested in. Everyone can tell when someone is bored, and I want you to actually enjoy reading what I share.
Regular Updates
Things change, which makes keeping content updated more important than ever. I frequently review my travel guides to ensure that all information is still accurate and relevant, removing anything that is not.
Since I frequently revisit the destinations I cover (I’ve been to Reykjavík 6 times, for example), I’ll also add new discoveries if I think they’re worth including. For more extensive updates, I often include new photos as well.
Original Photography
Every photo used on this website is original, and unless I’m in the picture, they were all taken by me. If I feature in a photo, either someone I know has taken it or I’ve hired a photographer.

Adding original photos helps tell a better story and showcase what I’m talking about. By using them, I hope you can make an even better choice about which activities you choose to do on your adventure.
First-Hand Experiences
This is a full-fledged resource, not some random content farm or faceless website. Every single article I publish is based on first-hand experiences. I do not compile random lists for tours that I’ve never been on, nor do I talk about topics I know little to nothing about.
In my opinion, this is the only way to create a truly unique and valuable travel resource. By basing everything I publish on first-hand experiences, you get better recommendations and can skip the tourist traps.
Full Transparency and Honesty
All of my opinions, even in sponsored posts, are 100% honest. If I don’t like something, I will tell you why. My goal isn’t to discourage you, but rather, to help you make a more grounded decision based on your own needs.
Each time I suggest something popular (like visiting Nyhavn in Copenhagen), it’s because I genuinely believe it’s worthwhile. Similarly, I won’t shy away from recommending that you avoid other experiences (such as seeing the Little Mermaid).
I am also big on transparency. All articles with affiliate links will have disclaimers (you can read more about my affiliate disclaimer here). Similarly, I’ll identify all sponsored posts as such. While some of the links in my posts are affiliate links, I only recommend excursions, tours, products, etc., that I actually think you’ll enjoy.
When partnering with brands, I’ll never take a deal that goes against my brand or audience’s values. I turn down most requests I receive as they aren’t a good fit.

Responsible Tourism
I think tourism should benefit the communities we visit, and I aim to leave a positive mark on each place I visit and cover. Where possible, I’ll recommend local businesses and provide responsible travel tips I’ve learned while exploring.
At the same time, I’m not going to be preachy. I will simply provide tips that have worked for me. You can decide how you use that information.
What I am Firmly Against
In addition to creating a set of core values, I’ve also thought long and hard about what I dislike. I will never go against my core values, and that includes each of the following.
- I will never outsource my articles.
- I will never write about a destination I haven’t visited.
- I will not write generic sludge.
- I will not use misleading affiliate practices.
- I will never use stock photos in my articles.
- I will not write clickbait.
- I will never sign partnership deals that do not align with my audience’s needs.
My Editorial & Ethics Policy in a Nutshell…
- Valuable, original, and accurate articles written by me (and me only)
- Original photography
- Uphold integrity at all times
- Transparency
- 100% aligned partnerships
- Regular updates to ensure content relevance
