Aalborg

Aalborg is Denmark’s fourth-biggest city and way off the tourist trail. This compact urban area in the north of Jutland is an excellent weekend trip, and it will surprise you if you let it. Aalborg is rich in culture, and it’s here that you’ll find the Utzon Center—dedicated to the iconic Jørn Utzon, who designed the Sydney Opera House.

You can reach Aalborg from a handful of international destinations, including London. Direct flights are also available from Copenhagen, while the train journey from the Danish capital takes around five hours.
