Malmö

Malmö is often visited on a day trip from Copenhagen, but it’s very much worth sticking around for a weekend. While the city might not have Stockholm’s visual appeal or Gothenburg’s nearby islands, it’s still home to beautiful architecture—especially around Lilla Torget and the Old Town.

Malmö also has several parks worth exploring, and its Västra Hamnen district is where you’ll find the imposing Turning Torso skyscraper. Right next to the neighbourhood is a pleasant beach, while you can also see the Øresund Bridge connecting Sweden and Denmark on the horizon.

You can enjoy a whole host of cuisines in Malmö, from Swedish cardamom buns to amazing falafel. The city’s young population injects an optimistic energy into the place as well, further bolstered by the many startups that call Malmö home.
